# Troubleshooting
# DivingStation
- If pairing fails
TIP
To avoid communication interference, please insert the dongle for ContactGlove separately from other dongles (e.g., vive tracker/tundra tracker dongles, wireless mouse dongles). Additionally, in some environments, communication may slow down when using a USB hub.
- If hand calibration fails
TIP
Before taking each calibration pose, try lightly bending and stretching your fingers before assuming the pose.
- If the SteamVR add-on doesn't launch
- Restart DivingStation.
TIP
To quit DivingStation, right-click the icon in the system tray → select Quit. (Just pressing the X button in the upper right corner of the window will not close it.)
- If the issue persists, restart SteamVR.
- If restarting both does not resolve the issue, check whether the "Diver-X" add-on is disabled in the SteamVR add-on management.
- Open SteamVR settings
- Switch to "Advanced" → "Display"
- Select "Startup/Shutdown"
- Select "Add-on Management"
- If "diver-x" is turned off, switch it on.
# Communication
# Slow or Delayed Communication
Select "Devices" on DivingStation and check the ping for each device.
- If the dongle's ping is around 100 (or higher):
- The USB connection may be unstable. Try connecting the dongle to a different port.
- If the Left or Right device's ping is around 100 (or higher):
- Change the channel. There may be interference from other devices.
- Ensure no other dongles are plugged in near the dongle. Keep it away from other dongles when connecting to your PC.
# SteamVR
# Diver-X logo is displayed on SteamVR, but fingers do not move
The following causes are possible:
- DivingStation is not open:
- If DivingStation is not open or not connected to the gloves, the fingers will not move in SteamVR.
- Communication issue between DivingStation and SteamVR:
- Open the Control Panel, navigate to System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allowed Apps.
- Find
divingstation.exe
and check both Private and Public.
If the issue persists
If the issue persists, your security software may be blocking the communication. Try disabling your security software and retry. You can also try disabling the Firewall via Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall.
# ContactGlove icon remains gray, and hands are not displayed in SteamVR
This may be due to the tracker role not being set correctly. Please review the settings.
# Devices
# Error during firmware update
Try the following steps:
Restart the glove and try updating again:
- Turn on the glove before connecting it to the PC, ensuring the light is blinking blue or orange.
- During the firmware update, the glove's light should turn green.
Restart your PC:
- Make sure the glove's COM port is not being used by another application.
Verify that the cable used to connect the glove to the PC is functioning properly.
Ensure the USB port connected to the glove or dongle is working correctly.
If you have a USB hub with external power, try connecting the dongle or glove to the hub and perform the update to see if the issue improves.
If the issue persists after following these steps, please contact support.
# Glove light turns green
Startup has failed. Please restart the power.
# Glove light blinks pink
A communication error has occurred. Restart the glove's power and ensure no devices emitting radio signals are nearby before reconnecting.
# Glove shuts down with a short beep immediately after startup
This is a protective shutdown to prevent over-discharge of the battery. Please recharge the glove and try restarting it.
# Dongle not recognized even though it is plugged in
Click the settings button in the top-right corner and press the "Install USB Driver" button.
# Glove's red light does not turn on while charging
ContactGlove2 is designed to stop charging when it overheats. Turn off the glove and allow it to cool down before attempting to charge again.
# Incorrect battery level displayed on DivingStation
The battery level displayed on DivingStation may be incorrect during charging. This does not affect functionality, so there is no need to worry.
